Lip Spoiler

Post by blowfelt »

I bought a lip spoiler a while back for my hatchback, but when i decided to fit it,it is a tad smaller than my boot door.

Is there a slight difference in size with the normal boot lid of a Cavalier hatchback to that of an SRI hatchback boot lid?

As far as I understand they are two completely different parts.

Sadly a hatch spoiler will not fit a saloon and vice-versa.

Probably find a hatch spoiler is deeper front to back, but not as wide.
It is also rounded where it fits around the rear screen.
it should also have a recess to clear the rear wiper arm.

The boot spoiler is quite short front to back, but slightly wider.
It's front edge is also straight - not curved.
And of course no wiper arm recess.

This should help with spotting the difference.

Although I presume all spoilers that you see for sale now are either used and abused or "copy" / pattern parts.

Although to me, the boot spoiler does look slightly narrower than the boot lid itself in the image in the link.

What i mean is,the hatchback boot spoiler (not the saloon spoiler) im fitting to my Cavalier TD hatchback is not long enough,It does not go right to the edge of either side of boot door and is about 10mm sort at either side.I had a Cavalier SRI hatchback some years ago and the lip spoiler fitted flush to the edge of the boot door.

I just contacted someone who is selling a Cavalier hatchback spoiler mk3.I asked them to measure the length and confirm the GM numbers. They said it was 1180mm long, and the GM No is 90306829.My spoiler is only 1165mm and has the same GM No.

They must have done different sizes in the same hatchback lip spoiler bc why is mine a fraction smaller.?
