Getting at ECU

Post by dorsetdave »

The car is a very original 1993 LS saloon. I need to get at the ECU. How do I remove the sill trim and the trim panel that sits over the ECU without breaking them? Any suggestions gratefully received.
Thanks for looking.

Hi Dave.
The side sill trim just lifts off, you have to pull it up and towards the seat, start at the end and work your way back, it's just held on by clips.

The driver's side kick panel (curvy plastic trim) which covers the ECU pulls out in the same sort of way, you have to prise out the small square tab with a flathead screwdriver or similar tool, then pull out the door seal around that corner and the kick panel will pull out. Refitting it can be fiddly, you have to push it back in place, then push the door seal back into it's position, then push the plastic tab back in place.

Hope that makes some sense.
