Headlight Removal

my new 1995 Cavalier has a small nudge on the front panel under the lights and corner of bumper under indicator. No paint broken and with a little careful work should tidy up.
The indicator is out, headlight currently not. I have undone the top mountings....are there more? or does it sit in lugs on the bottom and should tip forward and lift out.
It will not pull forward and out but that may be because the metal strip panel under the lights is bent and thats what I intend to straighten.

There is a lower mounting screw located underneath the indicator.

When you remove the indicator, a screw head (hex head) should be visible.
Remove this screw, and it should be possible to wiggle the headlamp out.

There are three self-tapping screws altogether - two top lugs and one lower lug.

It is easier to get out if the radiator grille has also been withdrawn.

Robsey thanks, yes grill already out and I had not seen that lower screw....both top lugs are broken and I think force may still be needed!! the bent lower metal is lipped over the bottom of the light.

well the light is out, reason I could not see the lower lug is that is snapped off too! light held in place by being crimped between the slam panel and bent upwards under light panel.

Thankfully replacement headlamps are available.
- albeit after-market.
Make sure you get the correct lights for your model year.
Pre-facelift for 1988 to 1991
And
Facelift for 1992 - onward.
