Does anyone have pics of a cavalier resprayed Arden Blue?

Post by Sean986 »

Hey

I've been trying to decide on the colour for my cavalier for a while now and it's almost time to take it in to get finished and on the road and was wondering if anyone has any old pics of a cavalier in arden blue?

I tried googling Arden Blue...

The only Arden Blue I can see is on the VXR models, circa 2005 to 2009.

I have looked on the colour schemes for the Cavalier, and Arden is not listed.

Looks like a job for Photoshop...

Sadly not, however for me it's not the right shade for a Cavalier, I've seen Vectra B's refinished in the same colour and it seems a bit cartoony (personal preference I guess).

I think the colour of user jgwilliamson's Cavalier is very similar to Arden Blue, here is a picture I picked out from his album on google drive:

Looks fairly similar to me, maybe not ideal but very close.

That one is a Lagoon Blue, and has a more turquoise tint to it.

Arden Blue is a very nice shade of blue, but if I was being a purist, I would say it looks too modern on the Cavalier.

Ask ten different people, and I am sure you will get eight different opinions.

Like I said, you could do with someone who can run a cav picture through photo-shop.
Then you will know if it pleases you - which is what really matters.

Thanks for all the replies, I've since went off the idea of Arden Blue and agree it's not going to look right.

I'm torn between leaving it the white I did the quick respray in, smoke grey or audi nardo grey or possibly sapphire black.

Really need advice as I'm struggling to decide and its getting painted soon?

In my opinion, some of the nicest colours are:-
Westmister Blue,
Polar White, and
Smoke Grey

I used to wonder what was so special about a Silver Cavalier, but Smoke Grey is a very smart colour on a Cavalier.

The SRi red pin-stripes help carry both the white and Grey colour schemes.
And CD chrome pin stripes suit the Westminster blue.

Many of the Metallics and Mica Pearlescents look awesome when polished up and the sunlight pings of the metal flakes.

Smoke Grey hands down for me. I am biased though.
