I presume yours would be a manual transmission with electric windows. To get the lower console out, you'll need to:
1) Pull out the rounded panel under the handbrake tip, pulling it gently but firmly from the passenger side. and if you have a cassette holder, or something else in it's place behind the handbrake, pull that out, that will give you access to the third screw that hold the section on.
2) Undo the 3 screws. One at the back, one joining the console to the gear selector lever panel, and one that holds the handbrake gaiter on. Undo them, and if you have electric windows, you'll have to disconnect the wires, not done mine so not sure how you disconnect them. I think they're soldered on. Might have to pry the switch panel up a tad to have a peep. If you get the handbrake gaiter off at this point, and out of the way you can then lift the console out.

To get the lower center console out (the one with the ashtray), if you can get the gear lever knob off, do that, then remove the gaiter. If not, it's still possible but a bit fiddly.
1) Lift out the gaiter by pulling it upwards from the front edge, it just unclips. Tuck it out of the way by pulling it up and over the knob until it stays up itself.
2) Pull out the ashtray, minding the wires connected to the back. Disconnect them, and tuck them behind the console through the holes. Put ashtray aside.
3) There will be 4 screws holding that console on, 2 will be staring you in the face, on the top side, and 1 in each footwell. You can then maneuver the console out and up, pushing the gear lever gaiter through the console. Easy enough once you do it.
Like I said, the only thing I'm not sure about is the electric windows switch panel, if your car has them.
Hope this is of some use.
Andrei.

The seats are just attached to the sliding frames, I think you can just undo the bolts and remove them. But you have to be careful if your model has seat pre-tensioners. The rears are bolted onto the chassis as well. I don't think it's too fiddly. There are guys on here who know for sure. As for the carpet, well I'm gonna listen into this one as well, because that's something I intend to do myself.
And you're welcome. Feels good to help others out.

as andrei says, seats are just a case of undoing any wiring loom (for heated elements etc) and then unbolting the seat chassis from the rail. hey presto!

Don't the pre-tensioners go off if you do that though? I've heard the piston can launch or something.

shove the red thing in the hole, it'll be fine as long as your gentle with them, it normally takes a hell of a wack to set them off or non at all ive not found what the trigger is but normally throwing them 10 foot in the air normally works to set them off.

Hurts when they go off if you get your fingers in the way. I got a wicked blood blister from one once.
Basically seats out, consoles out, kick panels out and lift the carpets, the front footwells have some fold back metal tags at the top which may or may not still be attached to the carpet. Window switches unplug, they aren't soldered.
"No the temperature gauge doesn't work........
we've driven 150 miles today........
the heater went cold last Thursday........
they check the level when it's serviced don't they?"

Thanks for clearing that one up for us. Helps if I ever have to remove the console in my auto.
