Torque wrench

I'm not sure if this is the right place for this topic(sorry if it's not), I recently bought a torque wrench 19-110 Nm, I played with it a little today(it's my first time using a torque wrench) and I'm not sure how it is supposed to be but I'm not able to set it up higher than 83 Nm, at least not with two hands. My question is: is it supposed to be that hard to set it up at high torque or am I doing something wrong ?

It should be able to adjust from the lowest to the highest torque setting with a twist of the handle.

The one I have has very fine lines on it for measuring the torque settings, the numbers are even and lines between the evens are odds, so you can count them up as you go and make odd numbers, etc.

Try twisting it down the torque range all the way, then back up to the higher torques. Should work.

This is pic of my torque wrench, second picture is torque setting to which it goes without much effort, that is with twisting the handle, but above that setting it goes harder with each twist to the point where I should put one part of the wrench in the vice and twist the handle with both hands. Now I'm not sure if it's supposed to be that hard to twist it?

Silly question but you are undoing the retaining nut on the bottom?

Yes I do, even made sure a couple of times I'm doing it

It shouldn't give any resistance until you reach the end of the range. Did you buy it new? See if you can get a replacement as it may be broken.

So I should be giving same effort from the begining to the end when twisting the handle(from the lowest setting to the largest ) ?

Yes, just tried mine as I haven't used it for about a year ( ) it should be constant light pressure throughout the torque range. Have you undone or tightened any bolts with it yet or just tried adjusting it?

It's brand new, I just tried adjusting the torque settings nothing more, so I thought to myself if I have to put this much effort into the torque wrench I might as well not go to the gym

Try it on a few bolts, maybe something on the car or elsewhere, on different settings, and adjust it again, see if it frees it up.

I have to agree with Andrei on this one.
The handle should not become difficult to twist until it reaches just beyond the recommended torque range.

I have used several types and brands, and they all work the same way.

I would definitely not go sticking it in a vice. Just in case you damage, mark or break it. Any of which would mean that the seller can justifiably refuse to take it back or replace it.

Sounds faulty to me.

I won't I just wanted to describe the force needed to twist it .
