Hi guys. New to the forum.

1994 2.0 8v cat saloon. It developed a fault a week ago. Was giving it the berries on a dual carriageway and got to 4000 rpm in 3rd gear and there was a splutter and now have loss of power and restricted rpm. No eml light is on. Have checked plugs, leads, maf, temp senders, throttle body position sensor and all is OK. Engine is smooth with no misfires and fuel economy is still OK. HELP !!!

Mine (C20NE like yours) failed to rev over 4.5k (not just under load though), tracked it eventually to a blocked CAT.

Turns out to be a blocked rear silencer. All the wadding had tried to escape and had blocked the tail pipe. Still at least the car got a thorough going over. Thanks for the reply.
