My V6 is throwing up a code 17 on the ABS - RH Front Solenoid ( Relay & Connections )

Is this just an electrical fault?

According to TIS
There are two causes for fault code 17

If the fault is present at all times (not speed dependent):-
So even if not moving.

This is a break or a short to ground of the lead between the solenoid valve for the front right brake circuit and the ABS control unit.

----------------------

If the fault only appears when the car is moviing off and travels above 3.5mph (6kmh) then it is suspected that:-

There is a short of the winding for the solenoid valve
or
A short circuit to battery voltage of the lead between the solenoid valve and the ABS control unit

So in simple terms - check the wiring or connections to the ABS module.
I am tempted to suggest looking for pin corrosion in the main ABS connector. Between the solenoid valve and control unit.
