V6 exhaust parts

Post by Joner1983 »

The centre section of my exhaust needs renewing but nobody seems to know what I need to replace it. I've ordered parts that are advertised as for 93-95 Cavalier 2.5 hatchback but the suppliers contact me saying there are different options and I need to specify which one I want. Are there any different options for exhaust part for the V6? Surely there's only one option for hatch and an option for saloon?? I'm condused

Probably same as the calibra v6. And same as the ecotec engine, just a straight section with a bend

In theory there should just be one part for the centre section.
It's only the back box that is different between the saloon and hatchback.

I just got a stainless section made up bespoke when I got mine done. Couldn't find any genuine parts and a bespoke part wasn't that expensive, I think about £120 or so.

I thought it would only be one but the retailers were putting doubt into my head. It's also meant to identical to the SRi hatch facelift. I'll get it ordered up and see what happens 👍🏻 cheers for the replies

You have the twin downpipes, cat, centre, and backbox.
The centre runs from the cat to almost right up the backbox

I found once when I ordered a middle box for one of my cars that I got just that all seemed well until I got under the car & realised that the OEM exhaust on the car was different in that it was all one piece from the downpipe back, so I had to cut the pipe off of the old exhaust & reuse it mating it the new box.
