Fuel Pump?

Post by rushpuppy »

Fuel pumps, do they only pump when you turn the key i.e before you start you can hear it prime up, or does it go constantly or does it come on now and again? i ask this cos the bloke i brought the gsi from has butcherd the loom to the pump so im gonna run it off a switch as there is no feed down the ignition.

yes the pump starts up on ign and is constantly running , if your going to stick a switch off a live feed make sure the wire used is the same cross section as the original wire for saftey

You should find that the wire for the fuel pump out is on the fuel pump relay (the tall black one on the main loom) run a new wire from the large red/blue to the pump live then it should work as it was intended
