Small scale Cavaliers - Part 3: IXO

Post by Lowrider Dave »

IXO

The IXO models were made for various part work magazine subscription collection markets.
In Germany they had Eaglemoss Opel Collection, in Spain it went under the name Altaya - the name of the publisher who now falls under the brand of DeAgostini and across a large proportion of the English speaking markets, Hachette Partworks were also involved. Consequently, the same model can have IXO, Eaglemoss, Altaya or Hachette applied to the presentation of the model.

The 1/43 scale model itself is a facelift hatchback badged as a GL spec Opel Vectra A. It came in only two colours, red and silver. The silver model only featured on a special issue celebrating the car’s designer, Wayne Cherry. Whereas the red Vectra is the most readily used across all publishers. The body is one piece and has no opening doors, bonnet or boot and is furnished with 5 spoke alloys.

These models can still be found with a bit of searching and cover a wide price range depending on condition and location.
