Small scale Cavaliers - Part 5: Gama

Post by Lowrider Dave »

Gama

Gama is a German maker of toys dating from before World War I, they usually make cars and trucks. The company's headquarters are in Fürth, Bavaria, near Nürnberg - a traditional German toymaking center.

These die-cast cars are probably the one most of us remember as Gama supplied Vauxhall with the grey boxed dealership models. Both variants are covered, the saloon (ref: 1161) and hatchback (ref: 1162), the ref numbers are molded into the bottom of the 1/43 scale car. Both feature opening front doors and boot or hatchback. Generally available in windowed silver coloured boxes labeled GAMAmini. The model is displayed on a small cardboard shelf with the model name displayed on the front.
