Small scale Cavaliers - Part 6: Formule Kit

Post by Lowrider Dave »

Formule Kit

Formule Kit are 1/43 scale resin models made in Belgium. Long since discontinued, actual details about the company and products are a bit thin on the ground but models seem well produced, complete with clear parts and waterslide transfers. Some can still be found if you search the internet.

Kit number FK024 was, unsurprisingly, the 1993 BTCC Vauxhall Cavalier of John Cleland. It, like other kits from this manufacturer, came as a separate body, chassis, roll cage, clear plastic windows, photo-etched and plastic parts. A waterslide sheet with all the complex sponsor decal was also supplied.

Cavaliers also produced by Formule Kits were: 1995 BTCC J.Thompson and J.Cleland, as well as 1994 BTCC Jeff Allam - kit number FK021B (one of these original kits sold for £66 on ebay in 2015).

The waterslide transfers are sort after by makers of Code 3 models. See here viewtopic.php?f=85&t=15803 for code explanations.
