Hello

Post by Spelly »

Hi everyone

Having been registered on here for a while but not really posted i thought i would start by saying hello.
Ive been around the Vauxhall scene for many years but have always loved the Cavalier ever since my dad had a brand new mexico red 2.0Gli saloon company car in 1991. I currently own a few modified Vauxhalls......

2003 Vectra 3.2 Gsi - Lightning silver
2003 Astra Linea 2.2 Linea Rossa Coupe - Lightning silver
1993 Cavalier turbo - smoke grey

Ive owned the Cav for 15 years (approx). Its been dry stored/SORN'd for a while now as i took it off the road when the diff expired and came through the bell housing. There is no way i was ever gonna break it for spares, ive put too much time, effort and money into it for that. So my plan in the new year is to get it back on the road. The engine/box are already removed and im currently in the process rebuilding the gearbox into a another casing. I will post a WIP thread up as time allows......

Thanks Andrew

Its currently in the workshop with engine and box out lol
The previous owner had most of the engine work done by Chris at Regal and according to them was around 300bhp at the time (1998 lol)
After owning it about an hour i removed some of the mods that were not to my taste eg blacked out windows, mirrors, stickers, eye brows etc. Then after about 6 months the head gasket failed so i removed the engine and gave it a rebuild and modified it some more with low comp pistons, steel rods, arp bolts & head stud kit, Cometic head gasket, uprated clutch etc. A few years later and another head gasket failure so while it was in bits i removed the chargecooler and fitted a Front mount intercooler, Gt30 turbo, new injectors and so on. All was going well and the new turbo made a massive difference until the diff bearing came through the gearbox bell housing lol. Its now been in bits in the workshop for a few years waiting for some tlc. Time for me to get cracking and get it sorted me thinks....................
