Are Cav gsi lights fitted on Tvr Griffith?

Post by wafers »

Help me out here! I was always led to believe that the Tvr Griffith had rear lights specifically from the Cav Gsi. Someone is trying to tell me that they were actually sourced from a Cavalier hatchback as slightly different fitment.
Anyone clear this one up?!

No they're GSi lights. Smooth lenses and the indicators are tinted. The later lenses (facelift) had a curve around the indicators.

Actually you're right in your original post; the Griffith used prefacelift (flat) Cav rear lights as well as later GSi variants, but always 'upside down' ha ha!

No they're not Gaz. I'm thinking of the only possible Mark fiesta with a shape like that and they're different. Reverse light on the TVR is much bigger.

They are.

There fiesta lights with a smoked cover over them. Fiesta side repeaters. Cav ignition barrel and cowling with tvr stalks.

I'm looking at the Fiesta that I mentioned now, there's one on my road and I'm telling you it's different. The earlier ones are the same, the later ones are narrow either side of the rear windscreen. I don't know what Fiesta you mean.

Ah right fair enough. I thought I was onto something though. Thing is, why did TVR embarrass themselves with crappy fiesta lights? Could have picked something better.....

Bristols used a lot of Vauxhall lights, and Bedford ones strangely enough:
