Re: Vauxhall cavalier L f reg saloon gsi rep two tone projec
I've started to respray the handles again as I prefer black smooth handles.
I've just started to rub them down.
I haven't got the driver one but I'm doing this when i can get a new one that's not busted.

Gave the handles a coat of primer and gloss black just got to lacquer (spelling)? them now.
Do this tomorrow I hope along with the last remaining side I need to spray.
Hopeing to fit them on Friday if dry also I'm going to buy a new drivers side one this week off ebay £5.99 plus postage gm part.

Do you have to take the door cards off to get to them?

Yep, there's a couple of stubby screws on the inside of the door that you have to undo.
Looking good mate, I color-coded mine on the auto, they've flaked off ages ago so I was going to re-do them at some point. I think grey handles look good on a standard looking Cavalier, but if it's personalized a bit, then why the heck not do the door handles too

Removing the door cards, pop off the inside handle cover with a flat blade screwdriver, there will be 3 screws behind that, there's 4 more along the bottom and it's clipped on to the door. Also if you reach inside the door pocket, towards the back, you have to push a clip with a screwdriver or something to "unlock" it, then pull the door card off. That's considering you've got electric windows... If not then you have to remove the window winder handles.

Re: Vauxhall cavalier L f reg saloon gsi rep two tone projec
Well got the cavalier side sprayed today.
So she's finally finished, well sort of just got to change the interior now to my cesaro one then a tidy more waxoil.
Here's the pics. There you go all she's in need of now is wheels.

Door handle looks odd against the rest of the black. I thought you were changing them?

I am m8 but the paint has lifted so I've got to rub them down again and try again.planetc wrote:Door handle looks odd against the rest of the black. I thought you were changing them?
It was the lacquer I used it reacted with the gloss black I've used.

why would you need lacquer on a gloss paint?cavaliersri130 wrote:I am m8 but the paint has lifted so I've got to rub them down again and try again.planetc wrote:Door handle looks odd against the rest of the black. I thought you were changing them?

Re: Vauxhall cavalier L f reg saloon gsi rep two tone projec
Started working on my cdx wheels as the bloke from the tyre shop noticed a lot of corrosion and loose paint around the rim making it hard to get a seal of air.
So they took the old tyres off for me and now I've started trying to refurb them abit better in black.
Bit peed off though as one of the wheels has come out crap all the paint has blistered so I've now got to start again with it
I've had enough with spray painting at the mo though everything I do recently is going wrong.
Here's some pics.
One wheel looks amazing.
Yes they are black and not white, my other half wouldn't let ne have white.

It leaks because the back box is not the right fitment its got the 1600 end going onto a racetube so I've managed to bodge it on with a steel sleeve but it leaks a little.terkin wrote:hmmmm give it week pull them and just check once its driving lol

Bandages usually do the trick for me.
