my cav hatchback c20ne

Post by big red »

hey everyone thought I would get a progress thread going ive only had car for a week but its coming together quickly :)
my cav is a 2.0l 16v ls which is actually fitted with a 2.0l 8v which im happy about as from what I have read/heard its a solid engine.
bought it for 300 notes and got some freebies thrown is aswell which you will see from pictures.
body work is in good condition only rust is one rear arch and bottom of one door soon to be fixed, underside is excellent from what I have seen putting it on ramps on tues night but it has all been undersealed :)
first three are just before I washed it to show condition almost forgot to take photos as started washing it lol

another interior pic
interior 2.1.jpg
after cleaning i took the g3 compound and machine polished the front wings bumper and bonnet and it came up amazingly!!
washed and polished 2.1.jpg
also i removed and cleaned the ICV and breather hoses as when starting the car it wanted to stall and since doing that once started it runs fine sweet as a nut!
ordered new gear and handbrake gaitors, hopefully fit them this week also wanting to fit the white dial clocks i have.
i have some black Vauxhall door pins too fit too.

whilst looking over car properly i found it has a pipercross panel filter fitted, grooved disc brakes and lowering springs so turning out to be a bit of a bargain!

if anyone realised in one of the pics theres a patch of water as have leak in rad but instead of swapping rads over ive just put some rad weld in for now seems to have done the trick also cambelt aint looking too clever so have a new kit ordered.

need to get cambelt covers and also source a black dash if i can like as my grey one is cracked and i prefere the black.

Looks ok mate :thumb If that's really an LS then it's been tinkered with.... Electric mirrors, leather seats, digital clock, and the door cards are in different colours. Also spotted the Turbo (oil +volt) gauges :thumb

Another bargain really.

What's the difference? I thought they had the same gauges?

VDO oil and volt gauges were Calibra only. Never an option/feature of Cavaliers.
