looks ace. love the work you've put into it. will have to talk to you about the vectra cruise control as I've been collecting the bits to make it happen, however am not sure about the speed pulses and when it will be effective from.

It sure is and so are the cams .Thay did the lightend bits to. Boxed up the bits and sent them all the way down to them.

Was easy to wire it in. Just make sure you have the plug that plugs in to the c/c unit. then u will have to extend the wires to down under the dash in the drivers foot well. You will need a cav brake switch and the plug for it, as this will be fitted to your car as the clutch switch for the c/c. I wired the speed sonsor wire in to the unused plug in the car loom for the 4x4 ecu. Its tucked up behind the fuse box behind the dash.

Part 2:-

Not long after I got the engine back in and running it started to leak oil. Wos coming out from behind the fly wheel. Very nasty because the gear box needs to come off and to get the gear box off the sub frame has to come off with the front suspension.then to get the sub frame off the exhaust mainfold has to come off, well u get the picture a lot of work. I got it all striped off found out the the rear oil seal wos at fault. Ended up taking off the sump and end bearing cap to change the oil seal.Took me a day to strip everything down and the next day to put it all back together. Before I refitted the gear box I got the engine running to make sure it was not leaking. the engine was hanging from the garage roof running in the car , lol . got a small video of that ill try and put up. Heres some of the pics from doing that 'small' job.

Image
can u spot the home made tool in that pic?

Image
Sub frame about to get power washed.

Image
Under the bonnet all back together. Can u spot whats missing and got a temp. fix to get it moving again? in the pic.

Image
and from a difrant angle

Ill do part 3 later the body work.

Part 3 :- The body work.

The car needed a new pannel fitted under the lights, so the front of the car came off. A couple of pathches were needed under the front wheel arches , so the front linners and suspension came off for that. The drivers side rear arch had a small patch of rust showing, but there wos a lot more in the arch. The side skirt had to come off and found a small hale that turned out to be a very big hole.Nothing left of the rear of the the sill by the time it was all cut out. The rear screen wos removed because it wos leaking water in to the boot. when this came out some surface rust wos found in the lower corner. Still have the pasanger side rear arch to change. It is not so nearly as rusty as the other side to look at, but there will probly be plenty hiding.

The new pannel under the head lights.

The outer rear arch removed.

The inner arch removed with a lot of the sill to and a bit still to come off. lots of rust here :(

Pulled my finger out today and got on with the car, not touched it for a few weeks.

Took the gringer to the rear passanger arch, found it wos not so rusty as the drivers side one wos. Got all the bad metal cut off , the new inner arch welded on and the new outer arch all cut to shape and ready to weld on next time i work on the car.

Been busy on the cav to day got the pasagner side rear arch welded on and some red lead primer on.

Heres a pic of the welding nearly all done.
Image

Here is the poor car looking in a mess, but the rear arch is all welded.
Image

Im getting there with the welding. Just have the rear of the passanger side sill to weld and a patch under the floor at the front.

Thanks for the complement. I try to do everything myself then i know its done right. The only thing i would not do is the painting of the outside of the car.

The cav has been put on the back burner the now becuase i have my wifes corsa to fix.

I did this to it.

Image

Never had to do much work on this car before and its a nightmare to work on under the bonnet. There is no room to get things out with out removing about another 6 things first.

Ive got the car all striped down. The list of new bits needed are engine mount, rad, ball joint, wing and door.

Could have been a lot more damage so not too bad. I did hit a bt pole with the car and the pole had to be replaced.

Been busy on the cav again. Ive finnished all the welding to the rear arch/ sill.

Heres a pic with me trying on the skirt for fit to the new metal.

Image

Also filled the new arch with wax. used one and a half cans in it.

Image

I then started to strip off some of the other bits that will have to come off for the respray. Got the rear quater windows, the arial and some of the door trim removed.

Next job will be a bit of welding under the floor of the front pasanger side, then thats all the welding done. hope to make a start to that on sunday.
