Golf GTTDI mk4 Anniversary 150-
Same as Ibiza bhp wise, just more refined,Limited, just older than the rest, and golfs are like focuses, everywhere!!
Mondeo st tdci - big comfy, cheaper, not much beyond 230bhp max
Twingo rs white -cheap, good looking petrol- slow compared, dont know YY just real like um haha.
Fiesta St -reasonable buy price and insurance, endless tuning and for 5k you get 300bhp with cosworth extras, meaning Big cosworth Inlet, then supercharger kit, makes 320bhp, but price of that is a Cav turbo.
or tdci Zetec S, hybrid turbo and.intercooler+injectors, only gets 130bhp,ish- NOSMOKE looks ace. Alot of tuning been on this lads just to make 130bhp from 95bhp standard, but like i say it looks cool.
Ibiza cupra tdi -Big power, reasonable insurnace and buy price, alot of tuning capability, just boring to lookat.
Fabias option, cheap insurance, one of the slower Perfomance DERVs,But need quite abit just to be Cupras BHP
Realy cant decide, whats everyones opinion on each car, they will be modified, no matter what anyome says, just sick of looking and finding new cars.

Re: Strange Choice
ffs I give up.... I don't mean to have a go mate but why don't you stop looking at crappy bits of plastic and just get a good second hand car made of actual metal for 10 times less the cost and do what you want with it?

they check the level when it's serviced don't they?"

I've decided I would really like a sex change, preferably from 'none' to 'absolutely shitloads'

Re: Strange Choice
How about a nice v6 Cavalier quicker than most of the cars you listed and with the F20 gearbox they really come alive plus the SOUND is awesome, 0 to 60 is 7.3 and there good for 140+ MPH
Or stop messing about and get a real fast car thats cheap!
Jaguar XJR 4.0 V8 Supercharged, 97 to 03
370HP & 525NM 155mph and 0 to 60 in 5.3 secs
????

Re: Strange Choice
So this is like the 100th "which car" thread now *lost count. Its VERY rare i agree with andrei but today i do, stop wasting our time and go to the nearest car pitch and buy the best you can afford and have done with it.
Re: Strange Choice
I'm also with Andrei on this. Use Google, read reviews on other sites. Fed up of blah blah blah blah! Its a cavalier mk3 owners club not what car!
....with a brew and my favourite biscuits.

Re: Strange Choice
We obviously have some great people here and many of us remain active on the forums after moving to different cars. Advice on other vehicles is best sourced from places that target the vehicles you are considering. When you buy something then by all means share it with us but I have to agree with the general consensus, we are not top gear, fifth gear, fast car or any other motoring journal. You will get many different answers to each of these questions because a lot of it comes down to personal opinion.

Re: Strange Choice
Totally agree. Unless you're a boy racer looking to lose his licence there's no point in wanting a fast car unless it's for the track. There are too many hidden cameras & incognito police cars just waiting to give you points on your licence & bump up your insurance.btcctroy wrote:I'm also with Andrei on this. This site's for people who appreciate mk3 cavs IMO. Whether it's the performance of the era or the uniqueness of the styling & rarity.
There aren't many left, long live the cavalier
