You and me both! Been a long time coming. Even then, the brakes maybe thrown on it again due to funds so we shall see.cavalier1990 wrote:Some pretty good work going into that mate can't wait to see the finished result!

From my own experience, it is far too easy to get swept up in the quest to have the car 100% sorted, which is lethal on the bank account.
"In for a penny, in for a pound" can easily spiral out of control.
Once you get so far, it is hard to rein in the project costs.
But no matter how long it takes, or how much it costs... I know for you, it will be 100% worth it.

Aye. I know what you mean. Still I will get there, just don't want to have to go back and redo bits I didn't fully consider previously.

restorations take a long time if you want them right

They also take a lot of funds and patience.btcctroy wrote:restorations take a long time if you want them right

Well it's been probably 18 months since I even saw the cav. Hoping to get down in July to give it a look over and maybe blow off some dust. May see about getting the oil warmed and dropped out. Can't be good having that sat in the sump for all these years.
On a side note: I really need to find some decent storage and get the whole Photobucket side of things in the past.

I hope seeing the old girl again will get you fired up ready for future plans.
As for photobucket - my understanding is that photobucket has now resumed it's original service, so your pictures should be safe at this point in time.

Looks like some images are working, others not so much. Guess I'll have to go through and re-upload any that are missing and edit the entire thread. Oh joys

Yes it took me a few weeks to change all mine to post images.
A few hours each night and it is soon done - depending on broadband speed.
Reminds me, I still need to tweak a few of mine after postimages changed the ip address.

Well, this is another one that won't be finished unfortunately.
Re: 93 Cav LS - Cav Number 3 (This one will get finished)
I don't know how I missed this post, last night.
Gary told me earlier in the day, that his Cavalier restoration had not only stopped, but it was cancelled.
The garage where the car had been sleeping for the past few years had been forced to close due to the owner's ill health.

well this is sad news....
I do however totally understand that vehicle restorations are nothing but huge amount of work, you can spend 100000000000000 hours at it with not much to show.
This results in the lose of interest for many and face letting go of their once pride and joy.
I have a few personal projects and do wonder to myself if i will ever get round to them.
The next one is my Fiat Uno Turbo mk1

Thanks Rob, Troy.
It wasn't exactly an easy decision, hand was somewhat forced due to the timing, funds and structural integrity of the shell.
I promised myself it would be my last cav, so when I can face it, everything I have in storage elsewhere will be up for sale.
