Zafira-A Central Locking with Comfort Closure
This thread relates to adding a circuit to create comfort closing using a Vectra-B / Astra-G / Zafira-A central locking module.
COMFORT CLOSURE CIRCUIT.
I have not tried it myself, but a friend on the OpCom forum has fitted this to a Zafira-A with good working results.
The pin numbers, functions and wire colours do seem to correlate between the different vehicles.
These are very basic circuits, using just resistors, transistors, a diode and capacitors, so none of that fiddley SMD rubbish.
Others have suggested using a 555 timer circuit, but hey - lets keep it simple.
There are two circuits -
A simple one for full closure on one press of the fob lock button.
Circuit here -
A second one with closure on one button press, but then stop the windows upon the second press of the button.
With stop function
Pro: If you have pets then this function can help to leave the windows open if needed
Con: You have always to wait until window closes completely before you activate the second lock.

Hint: If you have a powered Omega one-touch sun roof you normally need to change the capacitor from 100µF to 470µF.
Please use a 220uF cap instead of the listed 100uF cap when your car has only 2 elec. windows if it has more windows then use the 470uF cap.
INFORMATION - for anyone wanting to make this circuit, the Cathode of the Capacitor goes to ground.
What to do.
1 - Make the circuit of your choice.
2 - Locate the Vectra-B remote central locking module, and a good ground point. The images here clearly show a Zafira-A Bosch unit.
3 - Connect the wires to the module - please do not use scotch-locks as in this image.
solder and heat shrink tubing please...
Wires are -
Close impulse 1 = right connector (B) (Pin 7, black/yellow)
Close impulse 2 = left connector (A) (Pin 10, blue/black)
Comfort Closure / Window Lifter = left connector (A) (Pin 24 red/yellow or brown/black depends on model year)
Ground point = hopefully quite obvious.
Here is the 2nd circuit using Vero-board / strip board.

When I wired mine to the car this is how I wired it:-
My car was a late 2000 Zafira-A with Z16XE engine
Close Impulse 1 went to Black/Yellow which is Pin 7 (Connector B)
Close Impulse 2 went to Blue/Black which is Pin 10 (Connector A)
Comfort went to Brown/Black which is Pin 24 (Connector A)
Ground went direct to the cars grounding bolt.
Always check pin numbers and wire colours before wiring as they do differ sometimes. Pin numbers are the same for Astra G and Zafira A but wire colours MAY differ.
The pcb made up ready.

Not sure that 95% of Vectra A or B users would consider reprogramming to Omega settings.
Dealer programming is quite expensive, and -
in the UK, dealers do not like owners changing the specification of their cars from original factory set-up.
They prefer to say "it cannot be done".

I would consider doing this if I could find my connector A.
As you need to link the comfort wire from connector a to connector B on the Cavalier body loom.
I have a Kiekert Vectra-B door locking module, which means that the remote lock and unlock functions work straight away.
On the Vectra-B, there is a multi-timer that controls how long actuation impulses will last.
Alas the Vectra-A does not have a multi-timer, hence the need for the little external circuit board.
I am sure you could use the old Ford Escort 9 second delay relay for this function.
It was something mentioned on one of the forums several years ago.

For reprogramming you just need an OP-COM (or anything similar). Easily done with laptop by yourself.
On Vectra B there is no connection between central lock module and multitimer which controls central closure. It's hard wired between central lock controle module and window lifters (brown-black).
Sun roof will also close if roof sun roof is fitted with control unit from Vectra B or Omega B.
I have to be fair: you have to keep the "close"-button pressed if you want to fully close windows and/or sun roof but no need of installing anything (except one wire for central closure).

Looks like something else for me to look into doing on my car
Looking at my pin outs,
I see X61 pins 14, 15 & 17 all go to the multi-timer and
X62 pins7 & 8 do too.
However - None appear to link to the full closure wire on X61 pin 24.
It would appear that linking the brown black on X61 pin 24 to the brown red on X62 pin 5 would have the same effect that you describe, if you hold the lock button pressed.
I know OpCom / Vauxcom well.
(I am an admin on the UK forum).

Okay more updates from playing with my Kiekert remote CDL unit.
Connecting pin 24 of X61 to pin 5 of X62 does not appear to work.
Neither does connecting it to the relvant wire in the body loom.
More investigation required to verify the nature of the pulse from pin 24 (+12v or ground trigger pulse).
Another no go at the moment is connecting blue black from X61 to the relevant wire in the body loom.
I assume that this needs the micro-switch tucking away from the driver's lock barrel.
Leaving the switch connected but safely out of the way.
Then a passenger door lock motor (solenoid) needs to be fitted in place of the driver's door lock motor.
As another thought - I see that X61 pin 25 would go to a dash alarm switch tell-tale LED.
So perhaps wiring the anode of a 12v LED to X61 pin 25 and the cathode to earth / chassis may give the impression that an anti-theft warning system is fitted.
Just more ramblings from an old fool - lol

Tonight I made up the simpler of the two circuits.
Using my pin 14 as a +12 volt inpulse trigger, I was able to get an elongated output "ground" pulse through the closure wire.
I believe the circuit works better if the ground wire is wired directly to the chassis, and not to pin 11 of the 12 pin plug.
So here is the circuit.
Here it is made up on Vero-board.
Different component positions, but electronicly the same.
And in a pretty blue enclosure.
To improve the overall look of the circuit, and also avoid any shorting of the solder joints underneath against anything in the car.
My first circuit did not work as I had the polarity of the capacitor wrong.

A very nice solution for emergency use.
I am as guilty as the next man for locking keys in the car.
Or again - I am equally guilty for putting my keys down "safe" in the house.

But it is a bit too slow and clunky for everyday use if you have to confirm the lock and unlock functions each time.
Also a cool gimmick when out with your mates.
