it's just dawned on me, the switch unit i was given with the seats still has the plugs in from the last car,
also got a TC switch in it, so will have to find a novel use for it, or remove it

The side with Yellow Black is Passenger side, Red Black is driver side (it's more obvious when you look at the bottom of the seats - took me AGES to work it out, and only worked it out by accident too.

Don't know if this has been covered elsewhere, but I'm going to be wiring in my heated seats soon and I don't have the floor loom for the seats. I have picked up some plugs though so I'm planning to just run wires from the seats up the centre console to the switches in the dash. I'm thinking that I can simply splice the brown / black and stripey wires into the matching ones at the switch, can anyone confirm this or do the wires from the switch do anything else before they get to the seats?

Its a live and an earth circuit, you will find the plug in the passenger kick panel has them on the dash side but not the body side.

Id be putting the pins into the body side and running them to the seats, think they are brown/yellow brown/black (check the wiring on the switch plugs there will be 1 different colour for each side) find/make and earth point close to the seats and they will work as standard.

I'm sure the plugs only go into the housing one way round? Been a while since I did mine. also why didn't you just turn one on and see which seat heated up? then if its the wrong one just swap it over! :hair

seconly is there a way of putting heated seats into a car that dosent have them as standard? I want to wire tyhem into my gf's tigra I have a set of seats and switches. just need to wire them together.

Tigra should be wired to the dash side and you will need to run a couple of wires to the actual seats from the kickpanel, remove the sliding heater control above the ashtray and pop the cover off and you should find the holes and wiring for the switches already there.

You will find the 2 heated seat wires in the kickpanel next to each other in one ofthe multiplugs just run one to each seat and then earth the otherside under the central console and your done.

If they are there the wiring will already be attached to the dash.

You probably wont have them in the floor unless its a cdx turbo etc.

It should be wired to the dash side. You will find the 2 heated seat wires in the kickpanel next to each other in one ofthe multiplugs just run one to each seat and then earth the eitherside under the central console and your done.

What multiplugs are we talking about, i found the green and also the black 4 socket plug that go into the control unit but dont have control unit yet. Where am i looking. Will the plugs actually be there or will i have to run my own wires from the back of the relay to each seat?
