Ta, needs more power though...
Rear shocks are paggered - completely I'm working purely on dampening effect from the springs now I think.

A bit bouncy then. When a shock snapped on my Astra it would carry on bouncing after going over a bump for a bit.

Was it done at some silly early time of the morning, like the 5am car washing.

Re: 93 Cav LS - Run about
I can push that bush in and out, so not far off really.
balljoint was shot too. pivot bush wasn't too bad though.
Tyres badly scrubbed, so thats next on the evergrowing list of things to replace.

Re: 93 Cav LS - Run about
debating what to do, not sure if I want to lower it by 35mm as originally planned, or drop it 40 with the springs I'd reclaim of Smokey (my silver cav).

With Greig here fella, and a 40mm isn't to different to 35mm anyway.

Re: 93 Cav LS - Run about
List of work required before I'm happy with the cav mechanically
2litre discs and pads up front
Rear disc conversion on the rear
Replace fuel lines (still not done it yet, though I have just about everything I need now, I think).
Replace worn cam and purge and refill lifters, replace thrust pads
Drop the oil out, it's looking like caramel now - it's not pleasant.
Fresh oil, run for a week. drop, fresh oil, run for a week then drop and then replace filter and stick some Mobile 15w40 semi synth in (yes, it's that bad 20w50 from Morrisons seems ok for use as a flushing agent).
Locate spare injector and send it off for refurb and cleaning, see if I can get any lost power back.
Locate spare inlet air hose (can't find any in the breakers )
Clean up and Polish up the craply painted rocker cover - it looks hideous currently
Then it's getting dropped on 40's and some Corsa C SXI alloys (should be collecting on Friday )

Stripping the rear beam on the scrapper (my dads old cav) and going to hit that with the flapper wheel on the grinder then paint and get it ready for fitting to the cav.

Re: 93 Cav LS - Run about
Well, tonight I've collected my new wheels, fitted them, took the cav for a test drive, and even though I'm now on 185\55\15's the car sounds (inside) and drives better than it ever has in my ownership
Dug out the cam box from my 18SE rebuild project and proceeded to clean that up (Swarfega oil and grease remover isn't half bad).
Dropped the cam out of it, cleaned the cam box inside, knocked out the old seals and cleaned up the leading edges.
It's not immaculate, but it's certainly cleaner than what it's replacing Wish I had access to a proper parts washer, would make this kind of thing so much easier to do
Well, hopefully the weather will hold / improove and I'll have a silenced engine tomorrow evening
