Use the polished one, my mate phil had one on his mk3 astra v6. With a nicely coulor coded engine cover they look really good. Then get the rest of the engine bay preasure washed clean.

Well she's timed up and mostly back together just needs the alt belt putting on and the electrics building up, then the new exhaust fitting and new fluids. I'd have a picture but the camera died.

Is that a power boost screwdriver?

Looking good, you need to get rid of that yellow cap!

The screwdriver adds 400bhp and 1000lb/ft, you should know that Gaz...

Looking at a Richbrook item, and some black silicon hoses to finish the bay off a little, any chance of a hand over the weekend Gaz (if your free mate)

as per chat with Gaz, I've timed engine and I'm out somewhere... just been out again and checked all the timing marks and they all look perfect... so off it comes tomorrow and back on again. Completely as per haynes and not as per "however I remember doing it last time"

well she sounds timed right, but I have found the oil totally contaminated so a loud tap can occasionally be heard as the enginwe is revved... tomorrow comes the full on engine flush now she fires and runs well.

Not sure about the new exhaust note thou... little loud for me, BUT the new pipes look really good, I'm going too roll her away from the wall so I can hear it properly without so much reverb...

she be CLEAN! and running! Hip hip, Huzzzzar!

So the saga so far is, she's been flushed good and proper both lubrication and coolant. She still flashes codes 31 and 94 and the fan is activated by the reverse switch and the reverse lights don't activate.

But no reverse lights is not illegal nor an MOT failure, so although it's a priority it ranks fairly low down. Thanks go to Gaz and Chris for tipping up and lending a hand (Gaz).. :D

edit; fixed reverse lights and fan issue! I'd plugged them in the wrong way round! Idiot :wall
