Engine light come on...

Post by NickSRi »

Hi All,

Did a 'Prom' last night... went well...

However the engine warning light has started to appear (very occasionally)

When it does light up its when Ive taken my foot off the accelerator... when a put my foot down again it disapears... Doesnt do this every time...

No real difference in performance, but sometimes it is a little slow (like it has to catch up) on acceleration..Been like that for a while...

Any clues... maybe a good service is due?

Cheers Nick

What engine you got again? Could be a MAP sensor issue or something.

Am I a light sleeper or a heavy sleeper? Well that depends on how much I've had to drink...

Most likely a sensor, I think the red tops have a MAF sensor rather than a MAP sensor, could be that but also could be other things. Did you manage to flash up the error code?

If it hasn't been serviced in a while, it won't do any harm in doing that. Check over all the plugs and sensors around the engine bay, give them a clean if need be.

Thanks for your help and your pointers... Will be on to it this weekend :)

Check your error code fault list, paperclip test if you can, this might help before you start dismantling stuff and spend time and money chasing the problem:
