Some Unconnected Wires Under the Bonnet

Post by rp9524 »

Howdy again, another day, another problem lol

Ive been looking around today while putting the abs box back together for anything else out of the norm, and there are two wires here, connected to nothing, the black one has my attention as it seems to go down to a wire, and part of that wire goes back to the abs.

Now as you can see from the pics the last owner had some fun with the black battery wire so it is now all connected to the side of the car wing with another wire stuck in the connector.

Where could these wires go? and with any luck could it help my abs problem?

Well, went back out and took some more photos, the black wire is really go me thinking, inside the cover its a black wire all the way, and connects to a bigger pipe below (the first pic) and then that pipe goes all over, including the the plug that goes into the abs black box

The blue wire is connected to a green wire that then runs right up past the diagnostic towards the back of the dash (the green wire in the second photo)

Was looking in this showroom thread and noticed in the engine shot of this thread with the same engine, the black wire is seen going up to the positive battery, so i thought, why not?

Well super, my abs light has now gone out!!!

No more warning lights to worry about now, time to get it up to date with maintenance now, then get the bodywork sorted!

id trace any non standard wires back to where you can. I always try to get rid of wires that someone else has bodged in.
