Fuel Type: Gasoline, Propane, Natural Gas
Horsepower:
129 hp (96 kW) @ 5000 rpm (Gasoline)
111 hp (83 kW) @ 4000 rpm (Propane)
99 hp (74 kW) @ 4000 rpm (Natural Gas)
Torque:
158 lb-ft (214 Nm) @ 3200 rpm (Gasoline)
148 lb-ft (201 Nm) @ 3800 rpm (Propane)
132 lb-ft (179 Nm) @ 3200 rpm (Natural Gas)

interesting but that figures are, well, rubbish for a 2.4,whats the point.

Scanned the article but the point is flexible fuelling, if it is switchable on the fly then you could run the cheapest fuel type unless it is not available then revert to petrol.

If not, your right it's bleeding pointless...

i think its a good idea to be honest.

you can run your car using an engine designed to run on lpg which is half the price of petrol so basically your doubling the mpg of petrol. yes you loose 20bhp but im sure a few tweeks and maybe a chip will up it

but then its the case of price i suppose

Other than the fact that mostly all the petrol based engines on here can run on pure LPG in principle... The fuel network simply doesn't exist in the UK for LPG for it to really become a viable prospect. Although it was many moons ago when I looked at this I still have knowledge of only one in my area...
Lpg also has an advantage over petrol that it burns cooler, and that means cooler exhaust gases, and that means turbo engines can, in theory, run more power using LPG than petrol.
Petrol flash point; -43 Celcius
LPG flash point; -60 Celsius

Intresting...

Exuse if this is offtopic
I just wanna say that I have LPG in my c20ne vecy, it is a lot cheaper, and have no problems with LPG system at all, just regular servising every 10-15 000 km.
I am losing near 10% of power, but fuel consumption is 10% more than petrol.
I know a lot of people with 20LET-s with lpg, but that is different sistem, than this in my car. :wave
