Hi, just to say hello and show a few pics of the restored SRi I bought as my main runner. It was done by a neighbours friend who was a Vauxhall mechanic, he more or less rebuilt the engine with genuine parts and had it resprayed at a Vauxhall bodyshop. This list of works is extensive and I'll try to post some pics of the refurb when I can scan them in. I'm loving the car and how it drives, as its still all nice and tight and makes a good sound when it accelerates.... and it accelerates very well. Thinking about a K&N 57i but this could detract form the restore to original (with an exception of the wheels).
They call it the chav cav, I call it pure

Very nice cav mate in the best colour to and welcome along
I wouldn't go with the 57i induction kit personally I had mk3 astra sport 2.0 (same ecotec engine) and I found it responded better to a modified/de-restricted air box with a k&n panel filter an direct cold air feed I've also heard that the ecotec's tend to dislike induction kit's some one may be able to help more just my penny's worth from my own experiance and what I've heard
Any more plans for it? Would look sweet lowered on them alloys!

Just stunning, well done for finding such a great one. A set of fanblades would finish the exterior off perfectly but that's just personal preference I guess. Start a thread in the showroom/work in progress section too.

Cheers for your comments guys, I had an '08 Peugeot 407 SW Sport XS, fully loaded that I had to let go. I saw this way before I sold the Pug but borrowed the money to buy it so that i wouldn't miss it in the interim, a little risky but now it was well worth it!
@Jimmy, any guides or help with this box mod.
@Humbucker, what're fanblades?

Sri fanblades were the original alloys that were on your car from the factory. Same as these ones:
Re: New Member 1995 Mk3 SRi
Basically just open the box take the filter out then any bits of plastic inside that you take out pull them out it helps the air flow much more smoothly and freely! You will have to use a little brute force to pull them out but they will come! If your unsure let me know as I will be doing this again once I've got myself a cav!
Fanblades are standard SRi alloys they're a five spoke an basically the spokes look like the blades off of a fan hence the name I'm sure some one will have a picture of what they look like!
Hope this helps

I've always thought that Vauxhall went overboard on badges on the back of these? That aside I have to say it looks fantastic.

we've driven 150 miles today........
the heater went cold last Thursday........
they check the level when it's serviced don't they?"
