volt/oil gauge

Post by vaux24v »

just bought a cav v6 mk3 and it has the volt/oil guage in dash (standard vaux ones not aftermarket). it has abviously been added at a later date as it doesnt work and when i slid it out of dash its not plugged in and the part its sat in (under stereo) has a back to it so no wires or owt. i was wondering if the car will have the wiring in for them? if so i will cut the back of the tray out and plug them in. if not will remove them and make use of the tray lol.

They are not terribly difficult to wire in as far as I can tell, I'm in the process of fitting a set myself.

Correct, it's 4 wires, it's just the routing of the wires that will require some thought.

Hmm, that's what I'm finding. Could be a topic for a How2 there, lol. I can't decide where the best place to run the wires to is, given that I am to lazy to remove the center of the dash and am planning on making the hole in the odments tray while it is in place.

run the wire from the oil sender through the grommit in bulkhead behind airbag/glovebox. other wires are internal.
