Hairibo's Expression

Post by HAIRIBO »

Well this is the 3rd Addition to the cavalier fleet.

A bit tatty but ok for the price.

Plans are to use as a work horse, so nothing fancy.

I've fitted my spare Turbo leather and will fit a rev counter this weekend.

My GF and mam and dad say I'm too fussy lol.

I'll take some photos of the bad bits and let you lot decide.

But surley you can see the horrible dint in the C pilla?

The alloys tho are in great condition, the centre cap badges have seen better days. but the only marks or tiny from where its obviously had balancing weights.

When I fit new tyres I'm going to make sure they only weight the inside.

Ha ha. yeah feels like your in a van. Good old standard cavalier suspension.

I have a set of bilstein B4's and Eibach springs, but i'll save them for when I get a TD. No point sticking them on this for only a few months.

Well people. My cav is now driverible thanks To Gary's Use of his Angle grinder. We got the centre pipe off, (What was left of it), and fitted the new system. Drives and sounds somuch better. Those old 1.8's are very nippy. (up to 40mph).
And love to crush on the motorway around 80-90mph. Hard to keep them at 70! lol

And very pleased with her and starting to fall for the charms of a beat up old cav.

For somereason the foglight switch now lights up right and the interior light works on both sides. ??????

The car must be like Herbie. And the more you show love the better it gets. So better not get uppset with it or it'll brake down on me lmao.

Well she's going into daily service tomorrow so i'll keep you posted on how she dose.! :thumb

Thanks again EnvoyCDX

You want what wheels, the one on the v6 or these 15" expression ones?

The v6 still needs the welding in the boot. this one is for carding all my work gear about, and the v6 will be my weekend toy, once back on the roads.

I have another set of these 15's in my shed, once thinking about sticking some winter tyres on them.

Its Standard apart from the leather seats and head unit I added, Aa the original seats where goosed, and the aftermarket head unit someone had fitted had no way of wiring in so the Live and prem live wires work.

The badges were not on the car When I bought it. So somebody took them off sometime in its 18years of its life.

The car is a work horse til I find a TD. SO I plan on spending NO money on it  apart from essential maintenace.

It passed its MOT today :thumb

Bit of an update.

the cars had 4 continental tryes fitted, A new belt pully as was making a racket, and new wishbone as had a knock.

I've complety refreshed the paint wor, t cutting all the horrid over spray marks which made the car look more tatty than it really is.

I've swaped the leather for spotless cesaros and swaped the standard speakers which were falling apartt for some Sony's

The car is coming along nicely and looks great from a few metres away. Its only when the light reflects of the dints that let it down. But I've started to really low the car and driving it makes me feel retro and reminds me of being 21 again lol.

I'm still on the hunt for a good TD tho. Ands sure who ever takes this on after me will be happy with budget motoring.

I just dont really want to spend money on the dints as i'll never get it back on resale. :scratch

I dont think i'll lower the td once I get it. as standard ride height is ideal for building sites and fields lol. I,ll use the bilstiens anf fit brand new Sri springs. as for the eibachs i'm temped to use on my 3litre
