Do you chaps know any good shops to get spares, etc from? I'm interested in getting some hop-up parts before I start to build.

I've got to work out how to make some 1992 BTCC graphics too.

Nice. I'm going to try and replicate Cleland's '92 BTCC car. I'm going to have to collect a whole lot of reference material to make up my own graphics and then get them printed.

I can make one suggestion though - Get a bearing kit! its a must.

They never used to come with bearing, only some plastic inserts, back int he day, bearings were considered a hop-up! But this kit has bearing already in. I'm sure there must be an upgrade but I'm trying to find out what I can use as a replacement as anything online seems to exactly the same as I have!

They still supply the crappy nylon bearings with most kits but if the FF03 comes with metal then thats certainly a winner.

Does it have alloy shocks aswell? if not a set from "3racing" will be the way to go.

It all depends if you intend to run it or have it sat on a shelf for display.
I personally run all my RC as and when I can, and aint shy about abusing them.

You can also make a few parts by yourself like adjustable track rods or even use rods instead of wishbones.
3 or 5mm(cant remember off the top of my head) threaded bar fits the tamiya ball joint sockets nice and snug, but cut them with a bit of adjustment to play with.

I built my own 4 link suspension this way for a scaler that I run but its perfectly suited to tie rods and upper arms.

I personally hate ordering from the far / middle east.

You can get new stuff before it gets over here and at a good price too but...

... poor translation can mean you never get items, you have to wait up to 4 weeks, if you have damaged items then theres a good chance you have to learn mandarin and you may get charge customs tax.

Try and find a UK importer, far easier to deal with.

Thanks for that, all helpful. It seems the kits have improved since I last build one - but the dampers are still plastic so I will be upgrading that, thanks for the link.

I haven't started building yet as I am slowly getting up-hop/upgrade parts before I start. I've be using it but not abusing it, just a general race around playgrounds/car parks!
