Cavaliers???
It seams the prices of our trusty cavaliers are going up. and Lots of low mileage Original cars are popping up for sale
Eg
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1989-VAUXHALL ... 232876576b
A few years ago people would have thought "Prefaceligfht L" no thanks. But now they are lapping them up as classics.
Why is the cavalier getting sort after? Why dont people get all mushy over a Carina E, or Rover 600 lol.
I wonder if the Vectra will get the same following. But for some reason I cant imagine 10 years times people taking about the Prefacelight Vectra C with so much passion.
When I got my MOT done the bloke ask "Why do you love cavaliers so much?" the same question my mates ask.
I cant answer it. I just do. I love my CDX 3litre conversion. and I now love the Beat up Expression.
I get a flutter when I see photos of the mint Police SRi hatch on here. I got really Jealous when saw the guys shed in Northern Ireland full of cavaliers lol.
I just hope I can get a TD before the prices go too high!
End of Rant . . . . . .

Re: Cavaliers???
I knew they would. It's only a matter of time.
I really can't see Vectras going the same way, I think everyone's realized by now that they are too bland and boring, and don't have near enough as much character or history as their predecessors.
I'm keeping my early L, doing it up as best I can so I can eventually get a decent offer for it and a good home.

Re: Cavaliers???
I think there comes a point when over-all condition of a car comes before trim-level..........and also, the more basic a car, the less to go wrong, and the easier, and cheaper, it is to repair.
Born free,taxed till death
Re: Cavaliers???
The prices are going up...good condition pre-facelifts, Turbo diesel models etc..but its still not alot of money really for how good the cars are... We know Cav Turbos GSI & SRI all fetch good money now. The prices are only going to go up

Re: Cavaliers???
I worked out how values work on modern classics, if they were stolen and joyridden then the value goes up. Think about it old fords were stolen every night. Now cosworths are worth big money, novas cavaliers worth good money. Omegas fronteras etc weren't so they don't have the value

Now that's logicalGaz wrote:I worked out how values work on modern classics, if they were stolen and joyridden then the value goes up. Think about it old fords were stolen every night. Re: Cavaliers???
Yeah back in the day cav SRI's were the car to steel and joy ride in as they are fast. And boy races loved them in the 90's, Hence (Chavalier) is the nick name they have.
Makes sense, As other cars get a Grandad reputation.
Which is why I just sold my 2001 Avensis for £475, and I'd struggle to find a good cav for that price!

Re: Cavaliers???
Dont forget the Cavs are also before they decided to start charging the earth for road tax so you can have a decent V6 spec'd up motorway cruiser for still under a grand and enjoy the discount on the road tax.
Free Parking is a bonus, leaving my Cav in a carbon dust filled carpark is not.....

Re: Cavaliers???
I'd only ever sell mine to another Vauxhall enthusiast, and replace it with another one, but it's good that the prices are going up, because most are far too cheap for what they are. But it's like anything really, with inflation etc, everything goes up. Still, who'd want to fork out £8.000 for a plastic Matiz with a fake Chevy badge on it?? not me, give me a Cavalier any day.
