Wishbones and ball joints knocking

Post by 3.0cav.v6 »

Hi i find i have this recurring problem of having to listen to my ball joints knocking constantly i find the wish bones seem to not last very long before the ball joints are knocking again all the time i dont know if its just because the aftermarket wish bones arent up to much or just down to the mileage and abuse they get with my job

I do about 400 ish miles a week round all the villages 4 nights a week and the roads are quite bad so could be down to this i used to have the same problem on my calibra too although i know they are the same like

Both the cars are lowered so this prob wont help but does anyone know of any way i can fit some ball joints or bushes or something that will last for ages and be up to the abuse so i dont have to listen to them knocking like there gonna come out all the time its doing my head in :wall

Yeah , used them loads of times buddy . The guys are really helpful too . It's normally gm parts they sell a lot cheaper than dealer prices . their postal charges are very reasonable throughout the uk :-) www.autovaux.co.uk

I doubt it too. He probably has both the wishbones complete and also seperate ball joints in stock but you will only need the wishbones complete as they come with balljoints.

I have never noticed the difference between genuine and aftermarket wishbones.

But, one of my previous cars (Fiat Uno) came to me lowered, and it ate wishbone bushes until I put it back to standard ride height, then no more issues.
I do about 25-30k miles per year, mainly country roads, and carry a lot of weight...
