20xe coolant hose diagram it's for a cavalier gsi2000
Hi need some help me and my brother in law have rebuilt the gsi 2000 cars running sort of fine apart from the over heating issues.the engine gets temp goes into the red but water in the radiater is cold its a new radiater I had swapped the black plastic coolant pipe at the back of the inlet manifold or an updated one the metal one from tx auto sport but have swapped it bk for the plastic one does any one think it could be an air lock that I have and also how do I get it out as also what's strange is the over heating fan isn't kicking in at all fan works fuses ok and put new rad switch and thermostat in but as I say coolant in rad is cold which I suspect why fan switch may not be activating fan as temp cold in rad any ideas really much apreciated.

Is the water pump actually pumping?
"No the temperature gauge doesn't work........
we've driven 150 miles today........
the heater went cold last Thursday........
they check the level when it's serviced don't they?"

Pull a hose off and start it up, if the pump is working it'll chuck water everywhere. Airlock are not a problem, and the only people I have ever seen that suffered with them have later replaced the head gasket. Check the pump and the stat, and reverse flush the Rad in case it's blocked and then see where you are.

just because you changed the pump dosnt mean its ok, i went through temp issus with my cav turbo, tried all sorts to cure it, eventualy took out the brand new pump i had fitted earlier and the impellor just fell off, thus i had no water circulation, Ads
