Beaulieu, Simply Vauxhall
As above Beaulieu say it's still on for Saturday 12th September & are taking bookings.
Me & James were talking about a club meet there the only thing is Beaulieu are saying no club stands just turn up, so if we get something organized we would have to meet up outside somewhere & all drive in together.

Re: Beaulieu, Simply Vauxhall
Only just seen this, what a shame I'm in the new forest the following weekend. If I read this sooner I would have been really up for this and would've arranged my trip for the 12th. Is this an annual event at Beaulieu or a one off?

I am sure it is an annual event.
So you could always go next year.

Re: Beaulieu, Simply Vauxhall
I can't speak for everybody but I had a good day
I was told there was 120 + Vauxhalls that turned up, of that number I counted 6 mk3 cavs.
I was a bit later than planned so missed James, but I caught up with silverfox in his black GSI on the motorway I was in my black motorsport, a sight you don't see very often 2 black saloon cavs travelling along together, although I struggled to keep up at times.
James took a load of pics & I'm sure he'll post them up soon.

Re: Beaulieu, Simply Vauxhall
Sorry for the delay in getting these out, better late than never!
It certainly was a jolly nice day. Especially after every other car show of the year had been cancelled.
Lizzie, my Mum, Dad and I made a bit of a long weekend of it and stayed in a hotel nearby. Glad we did as we were able to get there early and stay as late as we liked.
I didn't take as many photos as I normally do on these events so I've kept down to just a brief overview.
We arrived bright and early and were greeted by about 50 other cars waiting to enter the ground in an early arrivals car park. After we were ushered in, the first field quickly filled up with Vauxhalls of all shapes and sizes.
This field filled up pretty quickly and Ian (IanGSI) and his wife, accompanied by Martin (SilverFox) were ushered into the second field when they arrived shortly afterwards.
As Ian said. it was a pretty decent turnout of Vauxhalls including a good number of Cavaliers.
First up is this immaculate looking MK1 Sportshatch:
One of my favourites on show is this 'barn find' SRi which has just had a full restoration:
Lizzie also took a particular fancy to this one:
There was also this heavily modified LS saloon. (the lack of rear headrests and the carpets gave it away!)
Next up are all the forum Member cars.
Ian's Motorsport:
Martin's GSi:
My V6 (driven my my parents Mike & Carole)
And Lizzie's CD:
Unfortunately we weren't able to line all our cars up due to the precautions put in place.
Cars were parked at set distances on a first come first serve basis.
Talking of precautions, I must say that the event was very well managed. Everywhere felt very relaxed and safe. They even had burger stands operating:
After a quick turn around the monastery...
...Next up was a trip into the museum. Here a just a few highlights:
Imagine being trapped inside this going at over 400 MPH!!!
Pretty much everything was still able to be seen owing to a very clever one way system and the exhibits looked fab.
All too soon though, the day came to an end and we said our fair wells and, as seems to be a reoccurring theme, we were the last ones standing:
It was lovely to see everybody there. Really looking forward to next year's show season!

Looks like you had a good turn out.
Good to see some of the older models.
Must be the "old fart" in my that prefers the older stuff.
That mk1 does look very tidy.
I have never been to a transport museum,
(If you don't count York Railway Museum) but the variety looks interesting, if not a little odd.
Although I presume there is a more understandable context when going around the exibits.
It must be hard to choose a very limited array to put on display.
No doubt, you completed the day with a bottled beer and a pizza - lol.
(It would be rude not to).

Re: Beaulieu, Simply Vauxhall
Looks like you and the organisers were lucky to get the show in, as I've just had the email that the swear word beginning with c has cancelled the nec show for the 3rd time. Also when I went out to do my fortnightly shop last night there was evidence of panic buying starting again, not a single bog roll in the place. Is life ever going to get back to normal?
Re: Beaulieu, Simply Vauxhall
Not while there are people with nothing between their ears, wasting space and air that would be better left for "sensible" people....3cav3 wrote: not a single bog roll in the place. Is life ever going to get back to normal?
Oh bugger - "sensible" , that rules me out.
Re: Beaulieu, Simply Vauxhall

Re: Beaulieu, Simply Vauxhall
Let's hope it goes ahead, I've still got the tickets for the nec show last march. It's been moved about 3 times already. And most of the shows local to me have been cancelled for the second year running.
Re: Beaulieu, Simply Vauxhall
Agreed, it would be nice to see a few car shows this year.
My nearest is the Cheshire show at Chatsworth House.
Always an excellent and varied turn out.

Re: Beaulieu, Simply Vauxhall
Great, I'll put this in my calendar. Hopefully my SRi will look tidy by then. Would be great to actually meet some fellow Cavalier enthusiasts. My friends are convinced I'm the only one

Awesome! I'm glad it's returning for another year. I feared it might be cancelled again.
