Okay, make it more tricky...what I meant to say was
I would need
Variable intermittent wiper delay
Computer buttons and
Rear wash Wiper. - (This is the rare bit !! ) on an Omega

I wouldn't say there existance is rarer, just the mid-high spec estates are less likely to be broken up for bits given their desirability so less likely to find a solitary arm floating around on Ebay.Robsey wrote:Okay, make it more tricky...what I meant to say was

Actually the end unclips,
so I could get one from a car with no rear wash wipe, and then slot it into my wiper stalk.
Sounds like a plan

Hmmm, I already have a Miggy wiper switch with front and rear wash / wipe.
The wiper delay thumb-wheel also means that my stalk is already quite wide...
Is the fuel computer switch cap even bigger than that? - wowsers.
Ah well, suppose it'll wait until my next trip to the breakers in a few months.
I'll have a look on EPC, and see what transpires.

Re: My 1994 Cavalier LSi 1.8CFi (C18NZ) Work-horse
Just a few more projects that I'm toying with.
1) Switchable Central Door Locking
The reason for this, is that my CDL sometimes sets off my Meta Alarm, for no apparent reason.
So what I do, is pull the fuse (No 17), except when I have passengers, or I wish to refuel. The fuse is refitted on these occasions.
Now to save faffing with this, I thought that I would control this via a switch and relay as per the drawing.
2) Switchable fan over-ride
In times gone by, I have split a few hoses, or nearly overheated my engine.
To counter-act this, I would normally bridge the pins of the radiator temperature switch with a 20 amp fuse, so that the fan runs when the ignition is on.
Again doing this via a switch and 40 amp relay, means that I can react more quickly and save my head from warping.
3) Sometimes, I forget to close my windows.
In the past my alarm did this for me, but that buggered up my window switch wiring.
So the simplest thing is to short the closure wires of the roof and windows (Brown/black) to ground via a dash mounted switch. I have a Traction Control switch doing nothing, so in my case TC can mean total closure.
I have all the parts, I just need to do them.
Should keep me busy

All good idea's. Hopefully you'll get round to them
Re: My 1994 Cavalier LSi 1.8CFi (C18NZ) Work-horse
Got loads of ideas, and most will get done in due course..
An hour here, and an hour there...who knows,
my boss is on holiday for 2 weeks, may have to have a few longer than permitted lunches to get them done.

Shouldn't take you very long to get the preliminary stuff wired in
Re: My 1994 Cavalier LSi 1.8CFi (C18NZ) Work-horse
Wiring the prelims is no problem,
It is stuffing the extra 3 miles of wire in, without making a mess that takes the time and effort !!

For the Fuel computer wiring bit? I used 6 core wiring (used the rest for the variable wiper switch you seeRobsey wrote:Wiring the prelims is no problem,

If you have all the fuel computer wiring (into the black box in the passenger footwell) Then it's neat enough to wire it in down there - well, it's what I did
I used net curtain wire to feed the cables through the dash
Re: My 1994 Cavalier LSi 1.8CFi (C18NZ) Work-horse
Tested the full closure wire shorted to earth idea.
Works a treat, but as expected, it also locks the doors on the CDL circuit (when the fuse is in).
When it isn't in, then obviously the doors remain unlocked.
I could trigger a relay to disable the CDL fuse, when I operate the Total Closure button.
Double pole single throw relay - that is the answer.

For clarification CDL = Central Door Locking?Robsey wrote:Tested the full closure wire shorted to earth idea.

Yep CDL is the Central Door Locking circuit.
I did quote it in full in the post with all the diagrams in, but I got lazy and reduced it to CDL as the thread progressed.

No major progress today, just removed all the old window stickers.
Many of which werevery wrinkled and tatty.
Amazing how much cleaner and tidier my rear quarter windows look
Will put pictures up in due course, when I have re-installed my photo editing software on the laptop.

Have you tried "GIMP" for photo editing Rob? supposed to be very good.Robsey wrote:No major progress today, just removed all the old window stickers.

One of the previous owners has alarm stickers of my windows, they will be coming off soon too - look hideous.
Re: My 1994 Cavalier LSi 1.8CFi (C18NZ) Work-horse
Hmm Gimp...now isn't that from one of those dodgey leather clad forums ha ha!
I have a photo editing package on the CD for my Polaroid digital camera.
I have always used it, until the virus killed the operating system last week.
I note that GIMP is approx 19Mb in size.
I just have one sticker on each side now, and they are for Midpoint Garage, near Crewe...excellent Vauxhall Specialist...nice tidy stickers.
Suppose I will need to order some CavMk3OC stickers from Gaz in due course.
I use baby oil to get the glue residue off after removing the stickers.
Then clean off the baby oil afterwards with your normal cleaner solution.

What is so shocking?
The term Gimp,
or mentioning Gaz - ha ha
(There is no link between the two - before anyone suggests otherwise)
