Ah yes, and we ask the almighty question,

Are you planning on using the vehicle tonight sir/madam?

Usually followed by the reply, "no, i just wanted it starting so it will start in the morning, do you think it will start in the morning?"

Usually a stern no and an explanation on the incapability of predicting the future is my reply.

Youll make it up there no problem, vans and trucks get up there.....

.......IN THE SUMMER!

Well a 6 ton truck on 4 inches of compacted snow and ice isnt going to have much chance is it?

Rain here all day - :)

Washed a lot of snow away,

just need to watch for the frost tonight, converting it to sheet ice.

Hopefully Birmingham and M6 will be okay tomorrow... don't fancy getting caught out... :(

The forcast for here (Manchester) is sunshine and +2 degrees, so no more snow until Monday - or so I believe :raindeer

Well the snow is no longer an issue.. although there are still bits around..

The problem I have now is a combination of

1) Compacted snow that has now converted to very slippery ice and

2) Living on the side of a hill...

I had to circle the block 3 times to try to get to entrance of the car park where I live ..

1st attempt, and I nearly slid into a badly parked polo,

2nd Attempt, I slid down the access road, and past the car-park entrance

3rd attempt, just managed to get it into the entrance :thumb

Hmm, not looking forward to the continuance of these -8 to -12 conditions :(

The rather depressing forecast is for more heavy snow this week, so everyone get two pairs of socks on!

Iunderstand, that for about 50 to 60 quid per corner, you can get "all weather" tyres, that are meant to be pretty good for snow and ice conditions, but also suitable for fair-weather driving...

Dependent where you are in the country, the snow is due any time between tomorrow night and saturday...

All my Cavalier's doors were frozen shut this morning! :(
Had to pour hot water round the seals to get them open... took some doing though. And my boot is sealed shut still!

I'm still waiting to change my tank and fuel lines, but there is no way that I am going to lie on a frozen concrete car park, when the temp gauge says minus 4.5 :(

My hatch has only frozen once... as said above, just thought bog it... and put my stuff in the front passenger foot well.

Returning to Topic,

Ive just come in again from the snow, i went for a night at squigs mates with him and emma, got home then back out to pick up a mate who was stranded in the city centre. Is actually quite fun having a 10mph powerslide.

Did see some interesting stuff while i was out including a porsche turbo and an elise creeping home in the snow and a numpty in a 10plate bmw doing 40 in the snow.
