Detango rear lights?

Post by Mikebmth »

Hi all,

Know on my old Astra I had Gsi rear lenses but now bought my Cav Gls and wanna know can I detango (take out orange bits) out of my standard Gls rear lights or do I need to source some Gsi rears?

People have done it before with a soldering iron, however I've never done it myself.

I did it to a set of Cav turbo lights. It takes time but its worth it.

I used screw driver and niddle nose plyers.

Can you find the ebay link to that mate? As I'll use it to turn the dark/tinted orange lights I've got into turbo replicas.(For the BTCC rep)

The face lift cavs had 4 different lights on the rear.

Early face lift had bright orange. Turbos had grey. Late Models have dark orange. and some SRis had a tinted orange.

You cant detango a gls set.

Can you do same on the GSi tail lights? Or is the orange in the lense itself?
