Watched this on youtube ages ago!!!
Its hard to think top gear once done sensable reviews on affordable cars!!!
Made me laugh about the boot lip spoilers
I too think that Top Gear should do more stuff like this.. trouble is they just don't build cars like they used to, so no car review program will be a proper program any more. Saying that Top Gear does have it's own style and most of it is ok...

Yet they are still on the road 16 years after they stopped making them, can,t all be bad, how many are beyond 200k mark and still running
I know people love them and there following is probably as big or bigger than the cavalier following but how many non cossie/xr etc do you see on the road, next to sod all, yet you see loads of ls/gls etc cavs
i hated the cavalier until i went to the auction and bought a j reg sri with 1 days mot for 175pound. put it in for mot next day and went straight through, i was made up with this car this was 9 years ago.
it lasted me 3 years till i got my current one.
just something special about the cav not sure what it is
I remember a guy where I worked bought a saloon shortly after they were released, and looking around it I was mightily impressed with the fit and 'flushness' of the body panels - far better that anything else in our car park! and for a twenty odd year old design they still look good today!
in the late eightys they looked amasingly modern, and reckon they could have kept them going till 2000 with minor improvments along the way.
yes shouldnt moan about rust as i forget im driving a 17 year old car, many eightys fords were down the scrap yard after 10 years

not just eightys fords the early 2000's car are mostly gone.
Gotta say i love Cavs, this is my 3rd now, must admit i've had a spell away from them. Mk2 cav was my second car (after my mk2 astra got nicked) the a mk3 1.8 auto and now my mk3 cdx 2.0 16v.
Between those i've driven fords, renaults, pugs and citerons. All pants when compared to the Vauxhalls.
Hes a braver man thatn me sticking his hand in the window!
I bet theres just as many sierra's on the road as cavs, you just only notice the car your driving more. I remember when my mum got a renault 5 years ago, never seen one before, as soon as she got it i noticed loads of them!
