Re: Vauxhall Cavalier LS Hatchback MK3
SRi spoiler arrived yesterday.
Definitely going to spray it burgundy. Just looks like the boot off another cav. Although I'm looking forward to not having to look at that dent. Thinking of filling the wiper hole and keeping the rear screen wiper free, like the saloon models.
I just bought some Sri side skirts off ebay for a tenner but before spraying them and the boot lip spoiler I'm going to get the cav mopped to bring it to it's best colour, then get the paint matched.
Re: Vauxhall Cavalier LS Hatchback MK3
tbh i wouldnt pratt about id just get the cover on it off a later model cover up the dent, while your there get a new back bumper crash bar as that one looks bent

Re: Vauxhall Cavalier LS Hatchback MK3
Hmm not quite sure what you mean... Do you mean get a boot lip off a burgundy cav? Or completely replace the boot? If so, it's a lot less hassle for me to get a boot lip off ebay like I did and respray it. And yes yes a back bumper is on the long listGaz wrote:tbh i wouldnt pratt about id just get the cover on it off a later model cover up the dent, while your there get a new back bumper crash bar as that one looks bent

Oooh I see what you mean. Yeah I've been keeping an eye out for a plain black one without the lights, if they exist for hatchbacks..Gaz wrote:
fit one of those over the dent in the tailgate

Re: Vauxhall Cavalier LS Hatchback MK3
I'm going to have to buy new fitting clips (whatever you want to call them) for my SRi side skirts I bought off ebay the other day. Any direct links to ebay from anyone that can help? I wanted to avoid drilling screws into the sills for obvious reasons so please don't suggest that
. Bonding is the last resort..

Re: Vauxhall Cavalier LS Hatchback MK3
The clips are riveted on from the factory, so you would have to drill & rivet or screw them on anyway.markrobertyeo wrote:I'm going to have to buy new fitting clips (whatever you want to call them) for my SRi side skirts I bought off ebay the other day. Oh I see. Well I guess i'll have to drill and then seal the holes with paint then..iangsi wrote:The clips are riveted on from the factory, so you would have to drill & rivet or screw them on anyway.markrobertyeo wrote:I'm going to have to buy new fitting clips (whatever you want to call them) for my SRi side skirts I bought off ebay the other day. Re: Vauxhall Cavalier LS Hatchback MK3
So I had a bit of fun with the sander this weekend and started on the boot lip spoiler and the SRi side skirts.
Filled the wiper hole to give the back a smoother less cluttered look.
Primered and ready to be sprayed once I've finished the side skirts.

Re: Vauxhall Cavalier LS Hatchback MK3
So the side skirts and boot lip spoiler have gone off to the spraying booth... Had a bit of spare time today so I thought it would be a good idea to spray the inside of the headlights black instead of spending hundreds on angel eye's or rare morettes. Followed a couple of posts on the forum and got it done in about an hour.

Re: Vauxhall Cavalier LS Hatchback MK3
Looking good mate, dont see many early mk3's modded... A refreshing change from the usual Sri and Gsi's!
Free Parking is a bonus, leaving my Cav in a carbon dust filled carpark is not.....

Cheers mate
Although I wish it was a SRi or GSi ! If and when this one dies I think a saloon will be on the cards.

Hi, nope I'm pretty sure they are just the standard LS seats as far as I know, they do seem to be slightly bucketed though in comparison to others I've sat in.

Re: Vauxhall Cavalier LS Hatchback MK3
Since its bank holiday and there is f**k all to do, it felt only natural that I'd tackle the cav and give her a clean under the hood. Sh*t everywhere and covered in oil and dirt. So with a pot of degreaser and a rag I spent the good part of an hour cleaning her up.

Pipercorss cone filter I nicked off my mates escort, sounds nice but I cant imagine it does much for performance.

Aaaah.. So clean

Next on the list of many things to do is to get the rocker cover off and clean it up nice and shiny and get a new head gasket set.

Re: Vauxhall Cavalier LS Hatchback MK3
Bit of a Photoshop experiment tonight, had a look at what it might look like lowered, with tinted indicators, repeaters, rear lights and rear windows. I'm not really one for tinted windows but there we go... thoughts? How about my photoshop skills haha

Re: Vauxhall Cavalier LS Hatchback MK3
Today I've started a bit of a boot build. Not so much subs everywhere and neon lights but I needed to fix my ONE sub in place without drilling in to the boot and make a bit more room. I made a frame last year when I got the Vibe set so the speakers wouldn't get thrown around but this left little space for anything else.

So I pulled out the carpet, used it as a stencil onto wood and made a base on which I could build on.

And this is as far as I've got. A MDF panel to support the amp. To be carpeted when it arrives.

Mine parked next to my mates, in the same car park everyday of the week. Same car, same story, handed down from his granddad ha
Re: Vauxhall Cavalier LS Hatchback MK3
I like that boot build looks like its gonna be great when its finished. I wouldn't mind one like that in my cav but the boots are tiny on the turbos!
